This part is provided for the reproduction, breeding, and maintenance of rodents and lagomorphs, according to the international standards of the United States and Canada, and according to the acceptance criteria of ISO 9001:2015, along with the ability to adjust factors such as temperature, relative humidity and the duration of exposure during the day and night, The equipment specifications of this department are as follows:
In this room, laboratory rodents are kept at a temperature of 19-24 degrees Celsius, relative humidity of 30-70%, light intensity of 300 lux, exposure 12:12 (light/dark), and type 2 and 3 polycarbonate shelves with autoclave capability. The contracted rooms are as follows:
- Room Conventional & Laboratory
In this room, laboratory rodents are kept at a temperature of 19-24 degrees Celsius, relative humidity of 30-70%, light intensity of 300 lux, exposure 12:12 (light/dark), and type 2 and 3 polycarbonate shelves with autoclave capability. The contracted rooms are as follows:
- A room for inbred rats
- A room for outbred rats
- A room for a large laboratory rat
- A room for keeping rabbits with temperature conditions of 18-22 degrees Celsius, 30-70% humidity, 300 lux light intensity, and 12:12 exposure (light/dark).
- A laboratory with a Class 2 hood, incubator, centrifuge, refrigerator, loupe, Benmari, sensitive digital scale for weighing mice, carbonic gas box for animal ease, microscope for microsurgeries, and all necessary equipment for working on animal models.
- Clean rooms and laboratory
- An SPF (Specific Pathogen Free) clean room for keeping transgenic mice (green mice) produced in Royan Research Institute
- A clean room for keeping and rearing immunocompromised mice
- A clean room for breeding SPF mice
- A clean room for breeding SPF rats
- It is a clean laboratory equipped with two class-B2 hoods, an optical microscope, a loupe, surgical and injection equipment, and all necessary facilities for working on animal models.
